Covid-19 and the Law

Late last year, while we were all fixating on Brexit, a much greater threat to our economic stability was quietly building. First identified in Wuhan in December 2019, the novel coronavirus now titled Covid-19 has rapidly spread through the global population despite the best efforts of governments and public health experts worldwide.

In early March we in the UK were going about our daily business with scarcely a thought of the virus. Less than 2 weeks later we were, effectively, under lockdown with schools closed, the travel, retail and hospitality sectors shut down and virtually all businesses feeling an impact. The virus has inveigled its way into every aspect of our lives necessitating restrictions on liberty and levels of Government financial support unparalleled in our lifetimes.

We understand the difficult decisions many who lead businesses in the legal sector are having to face and are committed to continuing to support you by providing our market-leading training through virtual classrooms. We are also working with expert trainers to create new training courses on Covid-19 issues as the situation unfolds. These courses cross a range of practice areas and cover topics including employment issues arising from Covid-19, the impact of the coronavirus on conveyancing transactions and dealing with contractual issues. We will be adding new content on a regular basis so do check the page regularly.

In the meantime please stay safe and well and we look forward to seeing you in a virtual classroom soon.
