Ms Alison Green is a barrister in chambers at 2 Temple Gardens. She has extensive experience of insurance and reinsurance litigation both before the Courts and in arbitrations. The majority of her work relates to commercial risks. She has represented major insurance and reinsurance companies, Lloyd’s underwriters, the Corporation of Lloyd’s, insurance brokers and insureds. She is a vice president of The British Insurance Law Association, having been its chairman from 1994 to 1996. She has lectured and written widely on insurance and reinsurance law and is joint editorial adviser on Insurance Contract Law by Professor Robert Merkin.

Mr Gerard Forlin is a barrister at 2-3 Gray’s Inn Square and is widely accepted as a leading expert in the field of regulatory crime. He is recommended in Chambers and the Legal 500 in three sections. He is the general editor of Corporate Liability: Work Related Deaths and Criminal Prosecutions.

Mr Michael Appleby is recommended in Chambers for Health and Safety. He acted for the managing director in the leading English appellate case upon directors’ health and safety duties (R v P Ltd and G, Times 13th August 2007). He is the joint author of A Guide to Health and Safety Prosecutions (Thomas Telford, 2007).

Mr Rob Elvin is Hammonds National Head of the Safety, Health and Environment Group. He advises large corporate clients on a broad range of regulatory issues, particularly in the chemicals, construction and power generation industries.

Dr Simon Joyston-Bechal is a partner with Pinsent Masons and heads the firm’s nationally recognised health & safety practice. Being a qualified doctor as well as a solicitor, he is uniquely placed to advise on health related matters. His work focuses on health & safety and product liability law.

Mr Charles Parry is a member of 3 Pump Court. He regularly prosecutes and defends health and safety cases, and appellate work and represented Nelson Group Services establishing the corporate defence of reasonable practicability distinct from the employee. Encountered asbestos, electricity, gas, falls, and lifting; currently prosecuting BT [fatality]; prosecutes for the explosives directorate.

Mr Peter McKay formerly Deputy Chief Executive of Nottinghamshire and West Yorkshire County Councils, has thirty five years’ experience in local government, and is now a consultant with Eversheds LLP. He is currently advising a number of police, fire and local authorities on governance matters.
