This course provides an important update and reminder on the key provisions in the latest Code of Conduct contained in the SRA Handbook and is relevant to all those working and practising in a regulated firm or business and particularly those with responsibilities for management, compliance and client care.
The provisions in Section 1 of the new Code of Conduct and particularly Chapter 1, are fundamental and it remains vital to have an understanding of the obligations regarding costs, particularly in the light of recent decisions with regard to estimates given the requirement to give a cost benefit analysis. Complaints handling remains important to issues of reputational risk and the key provisions around supervision and management responsibilities will be reviewed.
The course will also review the relevant issues relating to the outcomes needed to be achieved and the indicative behaviours in support in relation to conflict of interest, which will include examples, confidentiality and disclosure and issues around equality and diversity which is relevant to one of the new key Principles under the Code of Conduct 2011
