Advice on the funding of care home placements is frequently required as part of a full service private client department and is coming under close scrutiny in the review which the Government has embarked upon with the promise of new legislation following the recent Law Commission Report and the Dilnot review. This course looks at the detail in getting the most out of state support to equip practitioners with the know how to give practical advice to elderly clients and their families.

Caroline Bielanska TEP, Solicitor, is Chief Executive of Solicitors for the Elderly and provides consultancy for law firms on an independent basis. She sits on the Office of the Public Guardian’s Stakeholder’s Forum and Court of Protection User’s Group and was closely involved in the preparation of the 2009 Lasting Power of Attorney forms and the review of the Court of Protection Rules.
