Youth court advocacy, with its special rules and regulations, is a different skill to advocacy in the adult courts. The more informal approach of the courts and the special problems of dealing with young clients, and often young witnesses means that a specialist approach is required. Advocates in the youth court also need to be familiar with the special rules relating to the court and the different powers that magistrates have. This course takes delegates through the skills needed to appear for youths and the particular issues that can arise.
