This course is aimed at practitioners working in the Family and Criminal Courts and concerned with non accidental injuries to children.
There has been much controversy around the relevance of certain injuries and the diagnosis of NAI.
This course will consider the evidence base now available around:-
- Bruises – accidental/non accidental injury
- Burns and scalds
- Fractures
- The significance of nose bleeds
- Torn frenulum in young babies
The course will also consider:-
- What medical experts can or cannot say about the development of injuries, particularly in relation to ageing of bruises and fractures.
