The new Legal Services climate is looming large. You only have to open any legal periodical to be drawn to a conclusion that the financial rewards for the hard work and commitment you have invested in your private clients will all but disappear into the arms of "Tesco Law", accountants or will writers.
You could not be further from the truth.
We have always listened to our clients and strived to meet their ever changing needs. We can continue to do this. The only difference is that we are not the only provider of these services and we do not have a monopoly on being able to give all the right answers.
A recent survey for the Law Society's private client campaign confirmed that the public's expectation of the qualities they expected of a solicitor were met to a very high level except the quality of value for money.
We have a limited amount of time to change this perception by looking at the cost and method of delivery of our services. Provided we do this the high ethical standards we aspire to will continue to make us the advisors of choice to the public.
