Ancillary Relief practitioners will need to consider whether and at what point they should instruct an expert accountant to assist in the case. Understanding the approach taken by experts can be beneficial in understanding the point at which to instruct and how to manage the process effectively. The course will assist practitioners to understand accounts and how to best use them in AR cases.
This course will identify the warnings signs that flag the need for an expert accountant, and consider the following specific areas:-
- A review of accounts format
- Consideration of valuation and liquidity questions by use of a worked example including:
-hidden assets
-undisclosed income
-and the use of loan accounts
- How to instruct an expert, SJE or party appointed
- What will the expert need to undertake instructions
- Access to the parties and meetings with the expert
- Expert input to the questionnaire
- The thought process of an expert in a typical AR case
