This course is specially designed to provide a "back to basics" overview of what can seem to be a very complex benefits system.
By the end of this practically-focused and interactive session you will be able to identify all the different mainstream benefits and tax credits, who qualifies and how the benefits fit together.
You will also be able to alert your clients to the appropriate benefits in any situation – injury, separation, retirement, ill-health and much more.

Gary Vaux is an experienced welfare rights officer, with 30 years direct local government experience. He also trains, chairs the Social Security Advisers Group at the Local Government Association, and represents the LGA and the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services in policy discussions with the DWP. He writes a welfare rights column for Community Care magazine and appears as a contributor on Moneybox on Radio 4 and Wake Up To Money on Radio 5.
