  • * Intermediate/Introductory
How would you describe your welfare benefits knowledge? Very new and uncertain? Rusty? Patchy? Non existent? Hopelessly confused? This course is specially designed to provide a "back to basics" overview of what can seem to be a very complex benefits system.

By the end of this practically-focused and interactive session you will be able to:

  • * Identify all the different mainstream benefits and tax credits, who qualifies and how the benefits fit together
  • Information on JSA, ESA, income support, pension credit, one-off grants, tax credits and all other key benefits that your clients may be claiming
  • Alert any type of client to the appropriate benefits in any situation – injury, separation, retirement, ill-health etc
  • Know where to go to claim which benefit
  • Signpost yourself and your clients to additional sources of help and information
  • Understand the impact of income, savings and personal circumstances on different types of benefits
