Conveyancing Quality Scheme - All the Changes under the Microscope

The Law Society’s CQS is open for membership applications and many firms have applied. The first few firms have recently secured membership.  There is much criticism of the scheme already in the public domain. Many questions arise. Will membership of the scheme mean we will be kept on the lenders’ panels? Will membership bring PI premium reductions? Will it help if the minimum terms and conditions for PI insurance exclude cover for lenders and we have to buy cover elsewhere?

What will the new conduct regime say about separate representation? What will lenders require? Will we be able to act for both lender and borrower?

In addition there is a raft of further developments which includes changes pending to the Standard Conditions of Sale, the new Protocol, changes to the Code for Completion by Post.

Our half day regional courses to Conveyancing Quality Scheme – All the Changes under the Microscope - offer an objective analysis of the CQS and a practical look at the other changes. Attendance will give you the opportunity to network with other firms under the guidance of our expert speaker and take time out to look at the impact of these major changes on your practice.
