In the light of the implementation date of Jackson LJ’s reforms on 1st October 2012, civil costs reform is imminent and significant changes are already underway. All practitioners will need to be up to date in order to adapt to both the changing funding mechanisms and to the changes to costs rules. The combination of the Jackson reforms and the new thresholds in county court cases will have a major impact upon the recovery of costs at the conclusion of proceedings. The CFA product will be replaced and the insurance market is predicting radical change in costs insurance. There will be coverage of ongoing current cases and costs issues.
