Perpetuities and Accumulations Act 2009 for Property Lawyers - Webinar
horizontal rule

  • Update/Intermediate
The Perpetuities and Accumulations Act 2009 comes into force on 6th April 2010 and will make some welcome changes to the perpetuity rules. This webinar will look at:

  • The changes affecting the grant of future easements (such as those to lay and use service media)
  • How to simplify the wording of option agreements, both for freehold and leasehold land
  • The continuing traps that will affect reversionary leases and lease renewals
  • The demise of the "old favourite" 80 year perpetuity period
  • When the old rules will still apply
This webinar will be relevant for all practitioners, whether their practice focuses on residential property, commercial portfolios or development. It will be particularly useful for anyone involved in complex PFI/PPP deals where, until now, unnecessarily involved land arrangements have had to be used in order not to fall foul of the existing perpetuity regime.
