Sue Hatton is a Human Resource Consultant, and a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD. Sue has acted as HR Consultant to Pickerings Solicitors LLP and their clients since 2002, having previously operated at regional level with blue chip operations. She has extensive experience in handling the issues encountered by employers and providing practical solutions. Her experience in managing a Lexcel accredited law firm makes her highly aware of the particular challenges in implementing HR strategy within a legal environment.

Matthew Hickling is an experienced litigator and advocate. He is now a consultant and trainer in legal skills and legal practice. Vicky Ling BSc, MPhil, was one of the first managers recruited by the then Legal Aid Board to implement its quality assurance standard and has been an independent consultant specialising in legal aid practice for over 10 years. She was the author of the Law Society's original guides to Civil and Criminal Contracting and writes regularly on legal aid issues. Her latest book, the LAG Legal Aid Handbook 2011-12, was co-edited with Simon Pugh. She was a founder member of the Civil Justice Council and is currently serving a second term.

Martin Richardson is a lawyer who began his career as a legal academic before moving to the City and the former Berwin Leighton set up and run the firm’s first professional development programme. After completing an MBA, Martin became increasingly interested in business management and moved on to independent consultancy and training work in this area for the legal and other industry sectors both in the UK and abroad. He was until recently CEO of Law South Group Ltd and has now returned to training and consultancy activities, specialising in leadership and management issues for lawyers.
